Video gaming workshop

The Portland Public Library is hosting “Game On: Envisioning Your Own Video Game,” a series that starts from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and runs through Nov. 9 for tudents in grades 6 through 12

Talk about trip to Israel

Leo and Liz Barrington will be at Allen Avenue UU Church, 524 Allen Ave., agt 1 p.m. Sunday to share about their trip to Israel and Palestine. The potluck event will feature a photo show of the Barringtons’ 14-day trip, joining a study tour to the West Bank and staying with an Israeli peace-activist friend in Jerusalem.

Morrison Center yard sale

The Morrison Center is hosting its second “25 Cent Yard Sale” from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the center’s multi-purpose room, 60 Chamberlain Road.

Shop early for deals on clothing, small appliances, decorating articles, jewelry, toys, sports equipment and more. Donated items for the sale are being accepted at the center between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Saturday. Square dance classes

Square dancing classes are being offered from 6:30 to 9 p.m. starting Thursday. Classes are free for beginners Thursday and Oct. 7 and only $3 a class after that.
