SOUTH PORTLAND – Scarborough scored twice in the first 14 minutes and went on to defeat South Portland 3-0 Thursday in an SMAA boys’ soccer game.
Kevin Philbrick and Austin Wilcox put the Red Storm (3-0) up 2-0 before an own goal made it 3-0 with six minutes left in the half.
Peter Moore made five saves to record the shutout. Shawn Shannon stopped five shots for the Red Riots (2-1).
BONNY EAGLE 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Ryan Jordan scored on a penalty kick with 23 minutes left in the first half and John Thomas added a goal just over one minute later to lead the Scots (2-1) past the Trojans (0-3) at Standish.
Jordan added a goal early in the second half and Matt Willis had four saves for the shutout.
Thornton keeper Chris Roberts stopped six shots.
FALMOUTH 8, LAKE REGION 0: Brandon Tuttle and Sam Walker each scored two goals to lead the Yachtsmen (3-0) past the visiting Lakers (0-2).
Dakota Bush made 14 saves for Lake Region.
YORK 2, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Liam Langass scored the go-ahead goal from 12 yards on a broken play in the first half as York (3-0) shut out Fryeburg Academy (1-2) at Fryeburg.
Brian Mendoza converted a pass from Pierce Twohig in the second half.
Fryeburg goalie Mike Creegan had 10 saves.
GORHAM 2, WESTBROOK 1: Connor Reagan scored with 11 minutes left to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Rams (2-1) over the Blue Blazes (0-3) at Gorham.
Kevin Lubelczyk scored for Gorham on an assist from Drew Hopkins in the 10th minute.
Westbrook evened the score on a goal by Talal Alzefiri three minutes before halftime.
MARSHWOOD 3, NOBLE 0: Stevie Smith scored the winner at 1:31 of the second period and Justin Hockney scored twice in the final 19 minutes to lead the Hawks (3-0) past the Knights (1-2) at South Berwick.
GREELY 10, POLAND 0: John Downey had three goals and one assist, and Michael Tuller scored twice as the Rangers (3-0) beat the Knights (1-2) at Cumberland.
TRAIP ACADEMY 3, FREEPORT 3: Jack Dawe scored his third goal of the game with 13 minutes remaining to pull the Falcons (0-2-1) to a tie with the Rangers (0-2-1) at Kittery.
Evan Pereira set up Cameron Kuliga to give Traip a 3-2 lead 15 minutes into the second half.
SACOPEE VALLEY 6, WELLS 1: Nate Foster scored three goals to lead Sacopee Valley (2-0) at Wells (0-3).
Sam LaPointe scored for the Warriors.
