“Hypocrite: the man who murdered both his parents then pleaded for mercy on the grounds that he was an orphan.” – Abraham Lincoln
The November elections are rapidly approaching while the amount of political rhetoric is increasing even faster.
What amazes me is how many politicians and political writers blame everything on someone other than themselves. This applies to all the political parties. Even Republicans who have been in office for seemingly centuries are trying to paste themselves to the Tea Party movement in an effort to get themselves re-elected. Cast all of them out, I say.
What I found really hilarious is the distance the left-wing party members go to cast an evil spell upon members of the conservative party. They portray them as foul-mouthed, bigoted, big business loving, Muslim hating, and that’s just to name a few.
A great example of why I consider the left hypocrites is the proposed mosque to be located a couple of blocks from Ground Zero where the Twin Towers used to stand before Sept. 11, 2001. Many groups have demonstrated against the construction of that mosque including unions from New York City. Now there’s a bunch of right-wingers if I ever saw one. Just kidding, but it goes to show a large group of diverse people do not want that mosque to be built.
Of course, the biggest excuse the hypocrites use is the name of religious freedom. If members of the Islamic faith want to put a mosque wherever they want, I presume that means a Christian can construct a church wherever without regard to how the public feels about where it goes. Maybe I should declare my house a church so I don’t have to pay taxes on it.
Probably what I laugh about the most about the hypocrites on the left is that they continuously call conservatives hate-mongers while spitting out hate themselves. They can’t have it both ways. I am getting sick of all the bashing President Bush is getting although most of what he is blamed for was never his responsibility in the first place. I guess that’s the hypocrites on the left covering up their own biases.
After all, aren’t there two Democratic members of Congress facing some serious ethics charges? Another great example of a hypocrite is Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts who was discovered to have purchased a $7 million yacht and docked it in Rhode Island. Maybe he had a lapse of reality and believed he represented both states? I could use about three pages of this paper to tell my thoughts of what Michelle Obama’s vacation to Spain cost tax dollars but mentioning it is enough for me. I must mention Obama’s statements on how well his first stimulus plan worked although it is evident he hasn’t noticed the economy is still in dire straits. Oh, that’s right. He is proposing another stimulus plan, which should have happened this week.
I stated in past columns that you, your children and even your grandchildren will pay for this president’s blunders. I now admit I made a mistake. You had better make a video in order that your great-grandchildren can play it to their grandchildren as to why their taxes are so high. And that doesn’t include the cost of the proposed wastewater system in Windham. Windham can’t even maintain its defunct skate rink located behind Manchester School. I would mention more but then I would look like a hypocrite.
Lane Hiltunen of Windham is going to vote for a Democrat this November.
