Fond farewell to Sunny Window

I had heard a rumor that the much-loved Sunny Window Cafe? in Naples was closing. Then I drove by and saw the sign that said a bike shop was coming soon! Why, I wondered, (as I am sure many of you were too) would that lovely, delicious and successful shop be closing? According to the owner, Deborah Kilton, a desire to do other things along with a family illness, led to her decision to close down shop after six years. No more baking on the side, either. “Business and local support has been great… I’ve been baking since I was 18… I did everything in the shop and it takes its toll on you,” Kilton said. Kilton is leasing her building to a bike shop to open soon. The good news is she is still serving breakfast Saturdays and Sundays until Columbus Day from 7-11:30 a.m. Her future plans are undisclosed at this time, but rest assured, she does have a plan. Stay tuned…
