A 44-year-old Windham man was arrested tonight and charged in connection with the killing of David Harmon, whose body was found Aug. 31 in woods across Route 302 from Percy Hawkes Road.

Joseph P. Green, 44, of 38 Roosevelt Trail was arrested at about 7 p.m.

Harmon, 40, also of Windham, died as a result of a gunshot wound.

Evidence found near Harmon’s body linked him to Green’s property, according to State Police Lt. Brian McDonough,  but he declined to elaborate.

Police said Green shot Harmon as Harmon was trying to steal marijuana growing on Green’s property. They believe Harmon was shot on Greene’s property and his body was moved to where it was found.
