WINDHAM – Maine State Police are classifying the death of a Windham man, David Harmon, 41, as suspicious, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.

McCausland said Harmon was dropped off by his wife at 5:15 Tuesday morning in order to scope out hunting grounds in the Land of Nod Road area of Windham.

State police detectives and Windham police were conducting interviews and searching the area near the intersection of Cole Road and Land of Nod Road when Harmon’s body was discovered Tuesday night at about 9 p.m. Harmon had been reported missing by his wife Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and a search of the area Tuesday night found his body at the base of an 8-foot ledge.

An autopsy was completed on Harmon’s body Wednesday by the State Medical Examiner’s Office, but no cause of death has yet been released.
