Saturday, Aug. 28: Freeport Wild Bird Supply owners Jeannette and Derek Lovitch will be at the Maine Wildlife Park on Route 26 in Gray from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jeannette and Derek have developed careers working with birds as biologists and naturalists. Now, they bring their knowledge and passion for birds to Freeport to share with everyone. The park is from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; visitors must leave the premises by 6 p.m. Admission to the park is free for ages 3 and under; $5 ages 5-12; $7 for adults, and $5 for seniors.

Aug. 28: Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road, Route 121 in Casco, is having another fantastic Saturday Supper from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Traditional fare includes delicious baked beans, casseroles, salads, rolls, coffee, punch, and homemade pies. $7 adults and $4 children under 10, with a family maximum of $20. Sponsored by the Stewardship Committee with help from the Church Board.

Aug. 28: The Bridgton Democratic Party is holding a Spaghetti Supper fundraiser from 5- 7:30 p.m. at the Bridgton Community Center. Special Guests are Libby Mitchell for Governor, Laura Ordway for Senate District 13 and Lisa Villa for State House District 98. This family friendly event is open to Democrats, friends of the candidates, and to anyone interested in meeting the candidates. The Bridgton Community Center is located at 15 Depot Street in Bridgton, behind the Magic Lantern. The cost of the dinner is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert and coffee or beverage. RSVP by contacting Cynde LaPierre at 310-3706. Please also consider bringing a non-perishable item of food to be donated to a local food bank.

Monday, Aug. 30: Fifth Monday Meal, 5:30 p.m. sponsored by Standish Congregational Church, UCC, 25 Oak Hill Road, Standish, in conjunction with Food and Fellowship, Inc. Free and opened to the public.

Tuesday, Aug. 31: Community Tea at the Windham Public Library starting at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Saturday, Sept. 4: The Parkinson’s Information & Referral Center is pleased to announce the first 2K and 4K walk/run at 9 a.m. This event will take place in Bridgton with the start from Subway restaurant. Tuesday, Sept. 7: A Cub Scout sign-up night will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Russell School in downtown Gray. This will be a combined sign-up night for the Packs in Gray and New Gloucester. Designed for boys grades 1 to 5, Cub Scouts combines outdoor activities, sports, academics, and more in a fun and exciting program that helps families teach ideals such as honesty, good citizenship, and respect. Saturday, Sept. 11: The 9th Annual Good Old Fashioned Variety Show, to benefit the Monday meals program, takes place at 7 p.m. at Windham Assembly of God, 1051 Roosevelt Trail (Rt. 302) in North Windham. Sept. 11-12: Naples will be the gathering place of Native Americans from various tribal affiliations at the 3rd Annual Sacred Spirits Intertribal Pow Wow. There will be native drums, singing, dancing, flute playing and storytelling. Visit the many native craft and clothing booths, try a buffalo burger, watch a native demonstration or just bring a chair and relax to the music while watching the colorful dancers in their regalia.
