Baseball and softball players from Scarborough, Gray-New Gloucester and Gorham will compete in regional tournaments during the next week.
After going 5-1 to win the Little League baseball state tourney for 10-year-olds, a Scarborough team will play in the East Regional starting today in Cranston, R.I.
The roster includes Nick Anderson, Jared Brooks, Alex Dobecki, Glade Fredenburg, Owen Garrard, Nate Gehrke, Andrew Goodwin, Jarred Greenleaf, Connor Kelly, Zoltan Panyi, Morgan Pratt and Ogden Timpson.
Neal Pratt serves as manager and Adam Brooks is the coach.
A softball team from Scarborough will play in the Little League East regional tournament for 10-year-old players that starts today in Scranton, Pa.
The roster includes Lucy Bogdanovich, Courtney Brochu, Sam Carrieiro, Chloe Hunter Greenleaf, Emily Jefferds, Lindsay Kelley, Abbie Murrell, Laura Powell, Hannah Ricker, Erin Ryan and Felicia O’Reilly.
The Maine champion will open pool play Sunday with a game against Rhode Island.
A team of 13- and 14-year-old softball players from Gray- New Gloucester will compete in the Junior League’s East Regional that starts Monday in West Haven, Conn.
The squad includes Breanna Bozutto, Heather Chapman, Erin Doughty, Libby Gisel, Steph Greaton, Emily Hotham, April Lambert, Sam Libby, Sandi Ricardi, Molly Stansfield, Karen Sutherland, Alex Thompson and Maria Valente. The team is managed by Bill Chapman.
A baseball team from Gorham will compete in Cal Ripken’s under-9 New England tournament that starts next Saturday in Turner Falls, Mass.
The squad includes Jayden Gaudreau, Trevor Gray, Kyle King, Stephen Klatt, Trevor Loubier, Brogan MacDonald, Kevin Mollison, Ben Nelson, Ryan Norris, Simon Roussel and Jacob Yahm.
The team, which went 3-1 in a double-elimination tournament earlier this month in Mechanic Falls to win the state title, is managed by Tim King. Ron Gray and Steve Loubier serve as coaches.
