OLD ORCHARD BEACH — The town is temporarily removing swings from Memorial Park until the town receives a replacement part from the manufacturer of the equipment.

KOPAN, the manufacturer, said that a collar on the crossbar could break and needs to be replaced. Bill Robertson, the town’s director of public works, said the company has told hiim to expect a replacement part next month.

In the meantime, Robertson said, the six swings have been removed as a safety precaution.

None of the other playground equipment is affected, he said.
