A 35-year-old Portland man and a 22-year-old woman, charged in a pair of Westbrook armed robberies, also face child endangerment charges because the woman’s 4-year-old son was in the getaway car, police said.
Westbrook police arrested Heather Carroll Monday night following a robbery at Dunkin Donuts on Bridgton Road. Portland and Westbrook police arrested John L. Libby III at 537 Cumberland Ave. in Portland this morning.
Police say Libby threatened clerks with a knife and demanded money. Carroll drove him away, police said. Police say Carroll’s son was in the car during both robberies.

Police arrested a man in Portland this morning who was wanted in connection with a pair of armed robberies in Westbrook Monday night.
Portland police arrested John L. Libby III on Cumberland Avenue at 6:30 a.m. on behalf of Westbrook police. Libby is accused of using a knife to rob the Dunkin Donuts on Bridgton Road at 9 p.m. and trying to rob the Good Things Variety on Saco Street at 8:20 p.m.
Witnesses reported that the robber fled to a waiting vehicle driven by a woman and Westbrook officers were able to find the car. Police charged the car’s owner, Heather Carroll, 22 of Portland with two counts of robbery.
Police are investigating whether Libby is responsible for recent armed robberies in Portland of a car wash, a pizza shop and a Dollar Store.
