Summer concert series

“The Today Show” isn’t the only source for great summer concerts. Every Sunday from 6-7 p.m., head on down to the Village Green for a relaxing evening of entertainment. July 4 brings us Darla Dee and Just Jammin’. On July 11, check out the Highland String Trio.

Fourth fun!

Naples is always an exciting place to be on the Fourth. The schedule for the day includes the Parade of Presidents on Main Street starting at 2 p.m. Line-up starts at Tony’s Foodland at 1 p.m. If you would like to volunteer or actually be in the parade, contact Barb at the Naples Town Office, 693-6364. Route 302 will likely be congested all day so make your plans accordingly. The bridge will not be opening at 2 p.m. The fireworks on Long Lake go off around 9:30 p.m., with most people either camping out on the causeway or in their boats. The fireworks rain date is July 5.

This year the library is offering “Early Bird Tickets.” If you are one of those people who like to catch the worm, here is your chance. For $5 you can start your shopping before the official start of the sale at 8 a.m. At 10 a.m. you can browse all the wonderful art works inside at the annual Mini Art Sale. Most works go for $10 and make fabulous hostess gifts or a neat addition to your own art collection. Call the library at 693-6841 for information.
