STANDISH — Bangor High pitcher Samantha Bedore, who led the Rams to their first Eastern Class A championship this year, was named the winner of the Miss Maine Softball award Tuesday night, given to the state’s top senior player.

Bedore went 18-2 for Bangor, striking out 230 batters in 128.1 innings and walking only 37. Her Earned Run Average was 0.601.

As a batter, Bedore hit .453 with one home run and 11 RBI.

“I’m a little surprised,” she said. “This is an incredible senior class and to be named Miss Maine is a huge honor.”
