OLD ORCHARD BEACH – A man was stabbed in the back and shoulder Saturday evening after an argument on East Grand Avenue, police said.
The victim was believed to be in surgery late Saturday, although the three stab wounds did not appear to be life-threatening, Old Orchard Beach Police Lt. Tim DeLuca said. Officers were interviewing witnesses Saturday night and asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
The incident occurred about 8:10 p.m. as the victim and his wife were walking along East Grand Avenue near Dube Street in the area of the Crest Hotel, DeLuca said.
They got into an argument with another man and two women who also were walking in the area. As the victim walked away, the suspect followed him and attacked him from behind, DeLuca said. The suspect and two women fled.
DeLuca described the suspect as a white man, age 22 to 25, and about 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8.
He was a wearing a dark baseball cap, a white anti-New York Yankees T-shirt and black or blue shorts with a gold stripe.
