Country music star Trisha Yearwood’s new cookbook, “Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood” (Clarkson Potter $29.99), won’t necessarily make hardcore cooks want to run to the kitchen and start whipping up her Cowboy Lasagne.

But if you have a country music fan in the family, you probably can’t miss with this accessible cookbook that’s full of down-home recipes and anecdotes about Yearwood’s family, including her husband, Garth Brooks.

Recipes that look tempting to try include the jalapeno hushpuppies (for all you transplanted Southerners out there), Uncle Wilson’s stuffed bell peppers, and pork medallions flavored with a teriyaki marinade, ginger sauce and orange.

Everything in the cake and pie section will give you a taste of the South — red velvet cake, lemon meringue pie, coconut cake — and there’s a good recipe for sweet tea.

Watch out for “Garth’s Breakfast Bowl” (butter, eggs, hash browns, pork sausage, bacon, tortellini and Cheddar cheese), or you may find yourself making a date with a Cowboy Cardiologist.
