WELLS – Campbell Belisle-Haley allowed two hits and struck out 13 over five innings as Yarmouth beat Wells 6-1 in a rain-shortened Western Maine Conference baseball game Wednesday.
Aidan Sullivan hit a grand slam for the Clippers (3-0).
After Belisle-Haley hit an RBI single for a 1-0 lead in the second, Yarmouth added another run in the inning before Sullivan hit his grand slam for the Clippers in the fifth.
Paul McDonough scored for Wells (1-3), singling in the third and eventually coming across on a wild pitch.
FALMOUTH 11, FREEPORT 2: Mitch Beaulieu allowed two runs on four hits and struck out six as the Yachtsmen (2-1) downed the Falcons (1-2) in a game called because of rain in the fifth inning at Freeport.
Joe Barnes, Dillon Dresser and Matt MacDowell, the top of the Falmouth order, reached base 10 times on 12 plate appearances, scoring eight runs. Brett Emmertz drove in three runs on two singles.
Freeport committed seven errors and Falmouth scored five unearned runs.
CAPE ELIZABETH 10, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Conor Moloney struck out 10 as the Capers (3-0) beat the Raiders (0-3) in a five-inning game at Cape Elizabeth.
Moloney gave up one walk and two hits. Will Pierce hit a two-run triple in the fourth inning, and Kyle Piscopo had three singles and scored twice.
DEERING 5, NOBLE 0: Jake Nichols pitched a no-hitter for the Rams (1-1) against Noble (0-2), striking out nine in a game that was shortened to five innings because of rain at Portland.
Nick Colucci had two RBI for Deering on a pair of sacrifice flies.
LACROSSE
CHEVERUS 9, THORNTON ACADEMY 8: Evan Jendrasko had three goals and two assists, and Stefano Caiazzo added two goals and three assists as the Stags (1-1) slipped past Thornton Academy (1-3) at Portland.
Tim Grose had three goals and two assists for the Golden Trojans.
SCARBOROUGH 18, NOBLE 4: Matt Mayo had five goals for the Red Storm (2-1) against the Knights (0-4) at North Berwick.
Ten players scored for Scarborough, which led 13-3 at the half.
SOUTH PORTLAND 13, MASSABESIC 5: Garrett Reuscher scored five times for the Red Riots (4-0) against the Mustangs (2-2) at South Portland.
Harrison Keithly added three goals and four assists, and Chad Macleod had two goals and two assists for the Red Riots.
South Portland took an 8-2 halftime lead, then made it 12-2 heading into the fourth quarter.
WINDHAM 10, WESTBROOK 4: John Skvorak had five goals and an assist for the Eagles (1-2) against the Blue Blazes (0-3) at Westbrook.
Windham took a 7-1 halftime lead and wasn’t threatened.
Brad Styles finished with two goals and an assist for Westbrook.
TUESDAY’S LACROSSE
MT. ARARAT 13, MT. BLUE 1: Nick Parsons scored four times as Mt. Ararat (1-2) won at Farmington.
Dylan Bousquet-Smith added three goals for Mt. Ararat, and Will Bouchard had two goals and an assist.
