May is just three days away and Maine is covered in budding flowers, but the snow is still falling in the western mountains.

Sugarloaf, the last remaining ski area open in New England this season, got 8 to 10 inches of fresh snow this week. Additional snow is expected tonight.

The snow provided a final powder day at Sugarloaf, the only resort east of Colorado open today with two lifts and 24 trails. The resort will stay open through Sunday.
