John Williams, Brunswick, senior, defense: A strong one-on-one defender, Williams is especially adept at scooping up ground balls.

Tom Foden, Cape Elizabeth, senior, attack: Moving to attack after playing long-stick middie for his first two varsity seasons, Foden led the Capers with 95 points last season.

Ben Brewster, Cape Elizabeth, senior, defense: Brewster scooped up 60 ground balls last season to help the Capers win the Western Class B championship.

Max Miller, Cheverus, senior, long-stick midfield: A take-away specialist, Miller is the key to the Stags’ transition from defense to offense.

Carleton Allen, Deering, junior, midfield: The speedy Allen has shown he has the knack for putting the ball in the net.

Dan Hanley, Falmouth, senior, midfield: Named his team’s most valuable player in each of the past two seasons, Hanley led the Yachtsmen with 38 total points.

Mike Kane, Falmouth, senior, midfield: A third-year varsity player, Kane scored a team-high 25 goals to lead the Yachtsmen to their first appearance in the Western Class B final.

Ted Russell, Greely, senior, attack: As a junior, Russell scored 17 goals and picked up a team-high 72 ground balls for the Rangers.

Nick Gross, senior, Kennebunk, attack: Last spring, Gross scored a team-high 33 goals to help the Rams advance to the Western Class A quarterfinals.

Pat Wolfe, Morse, senior, midfield: Last season, Wolfe had a team-high 47 goals and 57 ground balls to lead the Shipbuilders into the Eastern Class B semifinals for the first time.

Caleb Kenney, Portland, junior, midfield: The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Kenney will present matchup problems for every opponent.

Harrison Keithly, South Portland, junior, attack: As a sophomore, Keithly led the Riots in scoring with 33 goals and 29 assists and scooped up a team-high 67 ground balls.

Tim Grose, Thornton Academy, junior, midfield: Last spring, Grose scored a team-high 26 goals and collected 60 ground balls for the Trojans.

Stephen Petrovek, Yarmouth, senior, attack: Last spring, Petrovek scored a team-high 56 goals and had 35 assists to help the Clippers capture their second consecutive Class B state championship.

Cam Woodworth, Yarmouth, senior, goalkeeper: Undefeated as a starter, Woodworth compiled a .690 save percentage while allowing 3.9 goals per game last season.
