Alexis Bogdanovich, South Portland, junior OF/P: Starting for the third season for the Riots, Bogdanovich is considered a top pitcher and hitter in the SMAA.
Janelle Bouchard, Kennebunk, sophomore catcher: A returning all-state selection, Bouchard is considered by many the top catcher in the state. Bouchard hit .400 with three home runs, 17 RBI and 11 runs. No one attempted to steal on her.
Lauren Chouinard, Gorham, senior third baseman: A second-team all-SMAA selection last year, the quick Chouinard sets up the Rams’ offense from the leadoff position.
Jen Colpitts, Scarborough, senior center fielder: Fast and aggressive, she is an exceptional defensive player. She also hit .394 last year with 21 RBI, 18 runs scored and eight stolen bases.
Meghan Craffey, Lake Region, senior catcher: A four-year starter and all-Western Maine Conference selection last year, Craffey is a strong defensive catcher and provides some power in the middle of the Lakers’ lineup.
Melissa Dellatorre, Scarborough, senior pitcher: One of the top pitchers in the SMAA, Dellatorre went 10-1 last year with a 0.93 ERA. She struck out 111 batters in 75 innings and walked only seven.
Danielle DiBiase, South Portland, junior right fielder: An all-SMAA selection last year, DiBiase is a good defensive player and handles the bat well at the top of the order.
Denise Freitas, Sanford, senior shortstop: A second-team all-SMAA selection last year, Freitas hit .423 for the Redskins and played nearly flawless defense.
Danielle Frye, Georges Valley, senior pitcher: In her fourth year as a starting pitcher, Frye is 41-2 with 452 career strikeouts and a 1.20 ERA. She has seven career no-hitters. She hit .444 last year with 10 RBI.
Julia Geaumont, Thornton Academy, sophomore pitcher: She stepped in as a freshman and helped the Trojans to the regional semifinals with a 1.07 ERA and 62 strikeouts.
Laura Getchell, Gray-New Gloucester, senior pitcher: A returning all-state selection, Getchell is a dominant strikeout pitcher. She has 589 career strikeouts, including 245 last year when she went 14-5 with a 0.563 ERA. She’s going to Wesleyan.
Audrey Grinnell, Cheverus, senior catcher: Grinnell hit .400 with team highs in runs (16) and RBI (14) last year. She was also the SMAA co-defensive player of the year, committing just one error.
Olivia Hamalainan, Camden Hills, junior catcher: A returning starter who is a strong defensive player, Hamalainan will also hit in the middle of the lineup.
Connie Grovo, Bonny Eagle, senior catcher: Grovo makes a move back behind the plate after playing shortstop the last two years. She came up as a catcher as a freshman. She’s also one of the Scots’ top hitters.
Mo Hannan, Scarborough, sophomore pitcher: A returning all-state selection, Hannan had a huge freshman season. She batted .443 with 13 RBI while putting together an 11-0 record with a 0.30 ERA. She had 145 strikeouts in 69 innings.
Theresa Hendrix, Cheverus, senior pitcher: The three-sport standout led the Stags in hitting and pitching last year. She batted .446 as the leadoff hitter. She was 12-5 with a 1.60 ERA and 124 strikeouts in 1072/3 innings.
Meagan Hennessey, Morse, senior pitcher: An all-KVAC selection last year, Hennessey is a control pitcher who changes speeds effectively. She had a 1.17 ERA and averaged four strikeouts and just one walk per game.
Sabrina Link, Wells, junior catcher: An outstanding defensive player who will handle a young Warriors pitching staff, Link is also a top hitter from the three spot. She batted .373 last year with 15 runs, 12 RBI and 11 steals.
Ariel McConkey, Fryeburg, senior second baseman: Batting fourth for the two-time defending Class B state champions, McConkey hit .337 and drove in 28 runs.
Alex Rennie, York, senior pitcher: Rennie has steadily improved in her previous two years as York’s starting pitcher. Last year she went 10-6 with a 0.823 ERA and 169 strikeouts in 119 innings. She also hit .393. Rennie will attend the Coast Guard Academy.
Miranda Riendeau-Card, Mt. Ararat, junior shortstop: A power hitter in the middle of the Dragons’ lineup, Riendeau-Card hit .449 with eight doubles, five triples and four home runs last year. She has good range and a strong arm.
Allie Souza, Westbrook, senior outfielder: The switch hitter provides a big boost at the top of the Blazes’ lineup. She has some power from the right and is a slap hitter from the left, with speed.
Marika Stayte, Greely, senior center fielder: A gifted defensive player who covers a lot of ground in the outfield, Stayte also hit .370 last year with a combination of speed and power.
Brylie Walker, Fryeburg, senior center fielder: An exceptional defensive player, Walker also hit .419 for the Raiders in the leadoff spot last year, scoring 22 runs.
Chelsea Watson, Marshwood, senior shortstop: A four-year starter for the Hawks, Watson is a strong defensive player with quick reactions and one of the Hawks’ top hitters.
