The Maine International Center for Digital Learning, a nonprofit founded by former governor Angus King, has moved from the Portland campus of the University of Southern Maine to Lewiston-Auburn College.
Started in 2008, the center supports teaching and learning practices involving digital media. The center will open at its new location next week, said university spokesman Bob Caswell.
King and university officials signed an agreement allowing the move during a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Wednesday at the college in Lewiston. The college is a branch of USM.
USM President Selma Botman thanked King and the center’s staff and volunteers “for your inspirational work in ensuring that the wonders of technology are harnessed in support of teachers and students.”
