March is on

As I write this I wear a turtleneck and fleece sweater and am still pining for a hot cup of tea to warm me up. Yet, two days ago I was in shorts and a T-shirt. That’s March in Maine for you, I guess. Wise Mainers do not miss a chance to be outside on those sunny warm spring days. You never know what the next day will bring. At least the bugs aren’t out yet, although we did see several mosquitoes on that warm day. Those little buggers!

Easter fun

The event, running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will offer games, refreshments, arts and crafts, and more fun for the whole family. For information, call 671-5804.

Cultural celebration

Drum circles and delicious foods from afar were just some of the highlights of this year’s Community Cultural Celebration held on March 13 at Lake Region High School. It was enlightening for my young daughters to visit the various booths and learn about the different cultures and countries. The family trees created by the students were also very well done and interesting. What a great way to honor the history of families.
