WESTBROOK — Westbrook police are investigating a robbery that took place early this morning at a Rite Aid pharmacy on Main Street.

Capt. Tom Roth said a white male in his 20s entered the pharmacy around 9 a.m. and presented a note to an employee stating that he had gun – though no gun was ever displayed.

The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs to the suspect before he fled on foot.

Roth said the suspect was last seen running toward Seavey Street in the direction of Pratt-Abbott Cleaners. Police canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

He is described a being 6feet tall with a gaunt face. He was wearing a rust-colored hooded sweat shirt and jeans. Westbrook police are urging anyone with information regarding the robbery to contact them at 854-0644, ext. 420.
