BATH — The Bath Historical Society kicks off its season of programs with “Patriotism and Progress: Parade Floats in New England Communities, 1788-1976”, an illustrated lecture by Jane C. Nylander, on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The program takes place in the Patten Free Library Community Room, 33 Summer St., at 10 a.m. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be offered at 9:30 a.m.
Nylander is President Emerita of Historic New England, former Director of Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth, N.H., and former curator at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Mass. She wrote “Our Own Snug Fireside: Images of the New England Home, 1760-1860,” and co-authored “Windows on the Past: Four Centuries of New England Homes.”
