Farmers market
The Lake Region Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. It is located in the parking lot of Manchester School. New this year is an Artisans section. Go and support your local farmers.
Help for veterans
Robin Shepard, state of Maine veterans advocate, will be at the Veterans Center July 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. He will help veterans apply for benefits. The service is free and no appointment is necessary.
Shriners breakfast
The Lake Region Shriners Club will be holding a public pancake breakast at Gilbert’s Chowder House July 18. Breakfast will be served from 7 to 10 a.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children.
Clothes needed
The Windham Clothes Closet is in need of gently used children’s clothing, boys and girls, sizes 2-4.
Stretching out
Raindrop Yoga Studio, located on Route 302 in Windham, is expanding to a new location at the corner of Whites Bridge Road and Route 302, across from the new Thatcher’s location. Raindrop will now be offering group yoga sessions in addition to private sessions, as well as Thai Yoga body work. Come and visit the new studio, or call Kathy at (207) 776-5208 for more information.
Library news
Works by artist Beth Kus of Windham are currently on display at the Windham Public Library. The exhibit of mixed media and photographs depicts Sebago sunsets, Quaker Ridge views and oceanside scenes. Kus’ work will be displayed through July 31.

Family visit
John Libby and his children, Bethany and Garrett, of Colorado flew in to Portland June 25. They stayed with his brother Billy and his wife, Paula, and family. They returned home July 2.
George Libby of New York, John and Billy’s father, arrived June 26 and returned home July 3. While here, he visited his mother, Beulah Mason, and his sister Darlene Ingersoll and her family, and other local friends.
Free eats
There will be a free community meal July 31 at Christ Chapel, located at 37 Northern Pines Road (off Route 85, near Crescent Lake) in Raymond from 4:30 to 6 p.m. All ages are welcome.
The menu consists of ham, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, tossed salad, assorted desserts (sugar-free available), and cold and hot beverages. For more information call 655-5058.
