No. 1 VTEC cruised into the semifinals by crushing No. 8 Shake N Bake, 130-81. VTEC jumped out to a 76-46 halftime lead and were never threatened. Matt Clement led six players in double figures with 31 and Brian Wohl added 28 with seven 3-pointers for the winners. Joe Downs had 23 and Eric Strout 20 for Shake N Bake.

No. 2 Legends got outstanding 3-point shooting from two players in holding off No. 7 PBR, 124-110. There were 39 total 3s in the game between the two teams. Travis Seaver had 11 of the 3s and Frank Billings had seven for the Legends. Seaver finished with a game-high 42 and Billings had 40. Ryan Caron had seven 3s and 31, while Chad Pulkinnen chipped in 29 for PBR.

No. 3 Hancock won a physical contest 94-77, over No. 6 New Era to advance. Pat Dempsey of Hancock had the quickness advantage all night for the winners. He finished with 32 and Matt Hancock had 29. Dave Brown went 12 for 14 from the line and finished with 23 for New Era.

No. 5 Leftovers defeated No. 4 Dream Team by forfeit.

The semifinal match-ups are set: No. 2 Legends vs. No. 3 Hancock and No. 1 VTEC vs. No. 5 Leftovers.

Men’s 40 and over 4 on 4 Basketball League looking for players and teams

The 40 and over league is back! We are currently looking for teams and individuals. The league is set to begin on Sunday, June 28. Games will be Sunday evenings beginning at 6 p.m. Cost is $300 per team, which has been reduced, so join now. Players must be 40 within the timeframe of the league to qualify. We are proud to offer women 18 and over a competitive league. The league will begin on Thursday, June 18. Game times will be 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Players must be 18 years of age.
