Empty bowl benefit supper – Saturday, May 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Centre of Movement, Route 25 (6/10 mile west of Saco River rapids), Limington. To benefit Ossipee Trails Arts Center. Homemade soup and breads; handmade bowls donated by many potters and pottery students. $10 donation for a bowl and soup to put in it.

Bean dinner – Saturday, May 9, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Massabesic Lions Club, basement of Massabesic Medical Center, Route 202, Waterboro. Beans, chop suey, ham, hot dogs, biscuits, cole slaw, and homemade desserts. All you can eat, $6, $4.

Sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook to benefit the Longcreek Youth Development Youth Chaplaincy Fund and Project Katrina hurricane relief. Bean-hole bean supper – Saturday, May 16, 4:30-6 p.m., United Church of Christ at North Gorham, 4 Standish Neck Road, Gorham. Three kinds of beans baked in a stone-lined bean hole, hot dogs, rolls, brown bread, cole slaw, potato salad and pies.

Homemade kidney and pea beans, franks, American chop suey, cole slaw, hot biscuits, pie and cake for dessert, hot and cold beverages. Sugar-free pie also available.
