A Portland man was in jail Tuesday after Westbrook police found him in the Walker Street area early Monday morning with blood on his hands.
Police said Jason Lemay, 21, had been involved in a fight at a Walker Street apartment and had intentionally cut himself. They said he also assaulted a woman at the apartment and unplugged and damaged all phones to hinder the victim’s ability to report the crime.
Police were patrolling Walker Street at around 5 a.m. when they encountered Lemay, of Cumberland Avenue in Portland. He was arrested and charged with aggravated reckless conduct, assault and obstructing the report of a crime or injury.
Lemay was still in Cumberland County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon.
