An Oxford County grand jury last week handed down a murder indictment for Agostino Samson, the 23-year-old Windham man accused of killing Scott Libby in February.

Samson, of River Road in Windham and formerly of Bethel, now faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted of murder. He is now being held without bail in Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn. He is scheduled for an arraignment in late April or early May, according to court records.

Libby’s body was found in his car along railroad tracks in Bethel early in the morning of Feb. 20. An autopsy found he died as the result of strangulation and blows to the head, according court records released last month. He owned a landscaping business that employed Samson.

Samson was arrested March 3 and charged with Libby’s murder. Police believe Samson beat Libby in the head with a frying pan and strangled him with a belt.
