A benefit dinner for Kim (Burtsell) Laughlin is set for Sunday, May 3, at 1 p.m. at the Shakers Dance Club in Naples.

Laughlin suffered a major stroke April 4. Her left side of her body is completely paralyzed and her mind is coming back slowly on a day-to-day basis. She has several blood clots in her brain and might undergo surgery. She has been the main source of income for their family as her husband Mike works part time but has had health issues as well. They have no insurance and they will have many needs just to get Kim back into the house. She will need full-time nursing, handicap ramps, a handicap-accessible bathroom, rent, lights, and food, just to name a few things.

Tickets to the benefit dinner are $15. Kids age 8 and under eat free. Donations can be sent or made under Kimmy’s Fund at Evergreen Credit Union, P.O. Box 1679, Naples 04055-1679.
