Personnel from the Scarborough branch of Biddeford
Savings will participate in a Career Expo at Scarborough High School on
Wednesday, April 15th.
This is the fourth annual Career Expo, which is sponsored by the Scarborough
Community Chamber. The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at
Scarborough High School. For five years now, the high school has offered an
elective Career Development Class, which helps juniors and seniors acquire
career information, understand what career resources are available, and
understand what educational requirements and training are necessary for the
career of their choice. The Career Expo brings representatives from various
industries into direct contact with the students.
“Biddeford Savings is very happy to be a part of this, and help the kids in
Scarborough get off on the right foot in life,” said Laurie Mooney, branch
manager. “Many times hooking up with an adult, and talking about what it’s
like in the adult world,’ can be a real motivator for young people. I
expect this will be a rewarding experience, not just for the students but
for us, too.”
