A Windham man was arrested this weekend following allegations of domestic violence.
Nicholas R. Leone, 26, of 12 Bates Lane was arrested just after 10 p.m. Saturday night after Windham police were called to his house to deal with an intoxicated male. While the police were on their way to his home, Leone left in a green pickup truck. Police spoke with the alleged victim, who said Leone had assaulted her.
“Allegedly he grabbed the phone out of her hand at one point and punched her in the face and made threats to her,” said Lt. Dave DeGruchy of the Windham Police Department.
Leone was taken into custody after his truck was located. He was charged with domestic violence assault and domestic violence terrorizing. While in custody, he allegedly made a phone call to the victim, prompting a charge of violating condition of release, DeGruchy said.
