Humphrey and young:

Gray-New Gloucester’s Cody Humphrey drives to the hoop against Greely’s Chris Young during Saturday’s Western Maine Class B quarterfinal game at the Portland Expo.

Humphrey scored six points for the No. 8 Patriots, who fell to the top-seeded Rangers, 68-35. Gray-New Gloucester ended the year at 9-11, while Greely improved to 17-2 and moved on to the semifinals to face No. 4 Cape Elizabeth.

Taylor Valente of the Patriots led all scorers with 16 points. Young led the Rangers with 15 points, while Sam Thompson added 12 and Trevor Tierney chipped in 11. Greely led 14-4 after the first quarter and was up 39-14 at halftime. It was 59-22 entering the fourth quarter.
