BRUNSWICK — Paul Odell, 94, died Dec. 24.
He was born Sept. 21, 1914 in Salem, Mass., the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Welch) Odell.
He was a graduate of Salem High School, Tilton Academy, and attended Allegheny College.
A World War II veteran, he served in armored divisions with the U.S. Army in seven European countries.
For 30 years, he owned and operated automobile service stations in Salem, Danvers, and Peabody, Mass.
In 1976, the Odell family moved to Brunswick where they owned and operated the Maineline Motel on Pleasant Street for 10 years.
He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Salem Masonic Lodges, a member of the Aleppo Temple Shrine of Wilmington, Mass., and a member of the Elks Lodge of Portland.
He and his wife loved music, dancing, travelling and dining out.
He was preceded in death by Rebecca Odell, his beloved wife of 65 years.
He is survived by three children, Peter and Sara, both of Brunswick, and Paul and his wife Deborah of Middletown, R.I.; and two grandchildren, Meredith Rebecca Harrop and her husband Glen, and Jonathan Paul Odell.
At his request there will be no funeral services.
Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
