Westbrook police arrested a man early Sunday morning on charges of gross sexual assault and impersonating a police officer.

Police arrested Shawn Larkin, 30, of Abby Commons, at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report from a woman who said Larkin sexually assaulted her after identifying himself as a police officer.

Police found Larkin at his home. Larkin was out on bail for a previous domestic violence assault and was also charged with violation of bail conditions.

Another sexual assault occurred Saturday on Brown Street. Police said no details are being released regarding that case, but the two incidents are unrelated, and investigations are ongoing.
