Lions Club news

The Sebago Lions Club had a potluck supper Sept. 18 during which, Lion Jim Libby presented a $1,200 check to Arlene Cooper and Roberta Douglas, who operate the Sebago Food Pantry. The ladies were very happy for the support in their mission of helping those in need.

Diane Letellier, president of the Lions Club, climbs Douglas Mountain every year on Sept. 11, to put up flags in memory of those who lost their lives that horrible day. This year, the weather was beautiful, and the fact there were only a few hikers made her solemn journey more poignant. Douglas Mountain is the highest point in southwestern Maine, overlooking Sebago Lake, Maine’s second largest lake.
