A 26-year-old Portland man was arrested early Thursday morning after threatening several people with a knife in a Westbrook apartment.

Westbrook police arrested Joseph Boucher for criminal mischief and criminal threatening with a weapon around 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the Main Street area. Boucher was taken to Maine Medical center for evaluation before being transported to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Police reported to the scene after receiving a call that a violent knife-wielding man threatened several people in a Main Street apartment. According to police, walls, lamps and televisions were heavily damaged, and two knives were found at the scene. No injuries were reported.
