Robert Skoglund, also known as the Humble Farmer, will appear at the Casco Public Library Saturday, Aug. 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Humble has had his own Maine Public Radio show for 30 years and has been called New England’s Garrison Keillor. He has written for more than 50 newspapers and has entertained hundreds of audiences from Holland to California. He lives in St. George where he was born and brought up.

Humble is a source of controversy these days since his firing by the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. There is a new Web site dedicated to the facts of his firing and the issue of free speech generated by this event at www.freethehumblefarmer.com.

Admission will be $10 at the door. Refreshments will be available. Call the library at 627-4541 on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Sundays for more information.
