Newly elected Town Councilor Blaine Davis was married June 23. Blaine and Lisa Moser of Victoria, British Columbia were married in Las Vegas with his parents and brother present along with 20 members of Lisa’s family. There will be a local reception at a later date.

Reminder

A reminder to the members of the Chase Cemetery Association of their meeting Aug. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Advent Christian Church on Highland Cliff Road. Anyone with input is invited to attend.

Supper

A public bean supper will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Windham Hill United Church of Christ, 140 Windham Center Road. Menu

includes: hotdogs, three varieties of baked beans, potato salad, tossed salad, macaroni and cheese, dinner rolls, homemade pies, coffee, tea and punch.

Price is $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

Alumni Association

The Windham High School Alumni Association will meet Friday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. in the public library. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss investments, banquet and other alumni business.

Birthday

Beulah Mason, of Varney Mill Road, celebrated her birthday Aug. 13. The day was spent quietly with family.

Shriners

The Lakes Region Shriners will not meet Aug. 21. They will be holding a lobster bake Aug. 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Otter Pond in Standish instead.

Community Party

On Thursday, July 26, Kaile Warren and Donna Leith entertained about 85 guests at their home on Gin Mill Lane to celebrate the Windham community, their friends and neighbors.

Kaile thanked all those present for their support of his election to Town Council. He also announced that in addition to local residents, guests’ origins included not just the USA, but Canada, Iran, Germany and Ireland.

Among the guests attending were State Sen. Bill Diamond and wife, Jane; State Rep. Mark Bryant and wife, Diane; State Rep. Gary Plummer and Linda Wyman; Councilors Bob Muir, Blaine Davis, Donna Chapman and their spouses; and a number of local business men/women and friends.

Lisa Cote, Pastry Chef and Dining Room Manger at Camp Sunshine, was the evening’s cook. Entertainment during dinner was provided by Gillian Bouchard, a locally renowned pianist.
