• Lakes Region Farmer’s Market runs 8 a.m. to noon until Oct. 13. Rain or shine at Manchester Elementary School on Route 302 in North Windham.
• Steep Falls Public Library: Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. A free story hour for toddlers and preschool children is held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Story hour is free and open to the public.

Aug. 20-24: Lake Region Baptist Church, 1273 Roosevelt Trail, Raymond, invites children 6-12 to Vacation Bible School Aug. 20-24 from 6-8 p.m. Larry and Debbie Porter, of Child Evangelism Fellowship, will introduce the adventures of Zacchaeus, Mephibosheth, Noah, the Ethiopian treasurer, and Saul in “Turned Around.” Games, crafts and food will abound. Aug. 25: A fundraiser to benefit the Walker family of Denmark, survivors of James Walker who was killed in Conway in July. The event will feature DJs, barbecue, live music and a raffle. It is scheduled to run from noon to midnight at the American Legion Post 46 on Tasker Hill Road in Conway. Tickets are $10 and can be bought at the door or in advance from the Legion post, the Army Barracks in Conway or T.D. Banknorth.
