Non-fiction/Classics Reading Group
This group will meet Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. at the library. The book chosen for discussion is Kurt Vonnegut’s “Slaughterhouse-Five.” We invite all interested readers to join us. The book will be available, at request, at the library. For more information call Al at 655-4548.
Book Discussion Group
The reading group will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. at the library. We will discuss the book, “The Flame Trees of Thika” by Elspeth Huxley. All those interested in reading and discussing this story are invited to join us. The book is available at the front desk upon request.
Library Closed
The Raymond Village Library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, in celebration of Labor Day. We wish everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend.
Children’s Story Times
There will be no story time for babies, toddlers and preschoolers during the month of August.
Book Sales
The Annual Book Sale is ongoing into the month of August. We continue to accept new items; therefore, there is a turnover of books, videos, audio books, puzzles, etc. and always something new to discover. Be sure to continue to visit the library for new finds.
Youth Services Coordinator
Sue Ellen Gendron, who has been the Youth Services Coordinator at the Raymond Village Library, has accepted a position in the library at Raymond Elementary School starting in August. All those affiliated with the library thank Sue Ellen for the wonderful story times and exciting activities that she has planned and conducted in the past years. She is responsible for the growth in the youth programs that are offered at the library and we wish her the very best in her new endeavors. The library will continue the children’s program in September.
