Do you like the outdoors, high-tech toys and have a love for adventure? Then maybe geocaching is the new hobby for you and your family.
Steve Caulfield, a Naples resident, will be teaching the basics of geocaching at the Naples Public Library on Saturday Aug. 11 at 9 a.m. Come learn how to get involved in the hottest new outdoor sport/hobby for families. Use a handheld GPS (global positioning system) receiver along with coordinates and clues from the Internet to find hidden “treasures” all over the world.
After an introduction in the library go outside to hone your new skills and find some special caches put out for this program. Help place a special cache to celebrate the Naples Public Library’s 100th birthday.
Space is limited for this free class so sign up ahead of time at the library or call 693-6841. Although geocaching is a family activity, the presentation will probably not hold the interest of children younger than 10 years old.
