Editor’s note:

Chambers of commerce are great places for visitors to get brochures or talk to professionals to learn more about the Lakes Region. Easily accessible on Route 302, savvy visitors will want to stop by one or more of the local Chambers’ information booths. There’s one in North Windham, one in Naples, and one in Bridgton. Happy vacationing!

Sebago Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce

By Executive Director Barbara Clark

On behalf of our 400 member businesses, welcome to our area. We are one of the most active chambers in the state of Maine with new businesses starting up weekly and year-round tourism and seasonal residents providing strong support to merchandisers large and small.

Chamber members employ more than 2,000 staff people, whose spendable income is the underpinning of our Sebago Lakes Region economy. We support these businesses and their staffs by being a collective voice for business in municipal and governmental affairs. We also host and support civic and economic development events for the benefit of the area and all its residents.

Summer information centers in Windham and Naples give our retailers two outlets to provide the public with their current brochures, coupons and other literature. During other seasons, our Chamber office in Windham offers this information by phone, mail and e-mail, answering multitudes of inquiries each year.

Our annual Business & Pleasure Guide is a great resource for our member businesses to let you know who they are, where they are located, how to reach them, and what’s new for 2006-07. We encourage you to pick up this handy book at the information center or at any business location as an idea book when you’re looking for something to do in the area.

Our members are ready and waiting to help make your visit here all you want it to be. Whether you’re here for the summer or a weekend getaway, we hope you will have wonderful experiences in the Sebago Lakes Region.

The information center is staffed by professional staff and local volunteers who pride themselves on being friendly and solving problems. The Chamber is involved in many aspects of the community including creating events that draw people to the region. When people visit the Lakes Region (including Raymond through Fryeburg, Maine) they tend to return. We see our task as providing opportunities to visit; we know the region’s beauty and resources will do the rest.

The Chamber hosts many events that can be searched on our Web site or by calling. See you in the Lakes Region!
