Thank You

Barbara Muir would like to thank the people who donated pet food to be given to the Windham Food Pantry on June 30. The food is very much appreciated by both the animals and their humans. With your generous help, there are some very happy and tummy-filled cats and dogs in town. Thanks so much.

Visits

Bertha Davis and her friend, Dennis, arrived July 2 from Zephyrhills, Florida. They will stay with her sister, Elsie Haskell, for the summer. While here they will also visit with other family members.

Party

Lew and Joanne Weatherby attended the 4th of July party given by her parents, Paul and Betty Estes. The party was at the Estes’ cottage. There were about 20 family and friends in attendance. Everyone enjoyed the great food and boat rides. Betty also showed-off her Bocce skills.

Meeting

The Lakes Region Shriners will meet July 17 at The Landing Restaurant. The social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Maine Attorney General Steven Rowe. They are hoping for a good turnout.

Birthday

Barbara Muir celebrated her birthday July 8. She enjoyed lobster, homemade ice cream and a birthday cake with her husband, Bob.

Moved

Jennifer and Bill Tom with son, Joshua, have moved back to Windham. They were living in Florida but came back to Windham July 4.

WHS Alumni

The 2007 Alumni Banquet had almost 250 attendees from as far away as Tennessee. New officers are President Carol Waig, Vice President Sue Nichols, Treasurer Tammy Haskell and Secretary Kay Soldier. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at the Windham Public Library. Any alumni member is welcome to attend. Dues are $10 and members automatically receive notice of the banquet. Address corrections would be very much appreciated.

Graduation Party

On June 24, Renee LeClaire celebrated her graduation from Windham High School with a afternoon BBQ at the home of her aunt, Lee Ann Leadbetter, and grandmother, Margaret Cote, on Collins Pond in Windham. Guests included Brian and Nathaniel Butler, Carol Waig, Bruce Bryant, Donna, Erin, and Ethan Johnson, Tim, Cheryl and Jared Eastman, Harold and Bertha Hardison, Kim, Norman, Kimberly and Eric Lowell, all of Windham. Other friends and family members from as near as Gray and Casco, and as far away as Daytona, Fla. also attended. Renee has been accepted at USM and is currently working at The Kennel Shop in Windham. She also coaches youth soccer for the Windham Recreation Department.
