Mystery lovers of all kinds are invited to join “Get a Clue at Your Library,” the Steep Falls Public Library that is. The 2007 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, pre-school through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, guest speakers and more. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program. All programs are on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Summer schedule:
July 11 – Who stole the cookie crime capers? Find the clues and discover who stole the cookies at the Steep Falls Public Library.
July 18 – Footprints in the Sand. Brett Levin, Standish Recreation programmer, will host a gathering of wildlife enthusiasts. We will learn to distinguish one animal print from another and discover which animals live in our backyards.
July 25 – Moon Mysteries. Enjoy a game of shadow puppetry and the book “I Took the Moon for a Walk” by Carolyn Curtis.
Aug. 1 – Where in the World is Puerto Rico? Join Olga Schimmer, a native of Puerto Rico, in discovering where Puerto Rico is, how to get there and discover the many cultural activities Puerto Ricans enjoy. You will also make a passport.
Aug. 8 – Nosy Noses & Mystery Boxes. Discover the scent in the bag and guess the purpose of the ancient objects in the box.
Aug. 15 – Super Sleuth Party & Dennis Labbe’s Mysterious Magical Wonders. Join the library volunteer’s and magician Dennis Labbe for an end-of-summer party with games, prizes, moonbounce and lunch.
