Windham Historical Society ran this picture about a month ago, asking for comments from readers as to their best guess of its use. We’ve received at least 20 responses from many different areas and have narrowed it down to a tobacco cutter of some kind – more accurately, a plug tobacco cutter, or shaver. The strange tool is on display at the Old Grocery Museum, corner of Windham Center Road and Route 202, in Windham, on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Thanks to all who helped us! Courtesy photo
