Had contagious laughter and close relationship with Christ
Marjorie Jane MacDougall, 64, of Standish, passed away to be with the Lord on Friday, June 29, 2007 with her family by her side.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1942 in Portland, Maine to Leona and Robert Callahan. After graduating from Portland High School in 1960, she married her beloved husband on June 10, 1961.
Marjorie started off her career with a passion for food services, which rapidly grew with a reputation of sincere love for her customers and their love for her. She was best known in the SAD 6 area for her famous Margie’s Muffins where she worked and served the community at Low’s Variety Store. People from far away would come to sample and eat these delicacies, share a laugh and a story or two.
Marjorie will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her love, fun and travel. Especially for her contagious laughter and relationship to Christ.
She is predeceased by her mother – Leona Callahan.
Marjorie is survived by her devoted and loving husband William “Mac” MacDougall of 46 memorable years, two sons Scott William MacDougall and his wife Lisa of Hollis, and Brian Allan MacDougall and wife Debora of Standish, her father Robert Callahan, her siblings – sister Jeannie and her husband Phil Perry of Renton, WA, sister Linda Grover and partner Larry Innis of Bath, brother Frank and his wife Barbara Callahan of Portland, brother John and his wife Elaine Callahan of Shammamish, WA, sister Bobbi Callahan and her husband Vance of Portland, six loving grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was a member of the Pine Tree Square Dance Club and a member of Galilee Baptist Church of Gorham.
The family would like to extend their deep appreciation for the staff and doctors of the Women’s Cancer Center of Maine, for their loving care and support during this very difficult time.
A funeral service was held at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home in Buxton on Tuesday July 3. Burial followed at Maplewood Cemetery in Standish.
