1. Joker’s Family Fun N Games
510 Warren Ave, on the Portland-Westbrook line, 878-5800, or go online to www.jokersfunandgames.com.Enjoy a challenging mini-golf course, ice cream, pizza and an assortment of fun games, including an arcade at Joker’s Family Fun N Games. There is also rock climbing and lazer tag.
2. The Good Life Market
Intersection of routes 302 and 85 in Raymond, 655-1196.
Offering everything from fine wine and hard-to-find gourmet cheeses, The Good Life Market is a perfect stop to find a quick snack and goodies to take home. Occasional weekend wine tastings are available as well.
3. Rivermeadow Golf Course
216 Lincoln St. in Westbrook, 854-1625. Rivermeadow Golf Course is a 2,900-yard, par-35, nine-hole course, which hugs the Presumpscot River. The river flows out of Sebago Lake into the ocean.
4. Skyway Games
Intersection of Route 302 and River Road in Windham, 892-5050. For those who enjoy video games, there is no place better. Dozens of high-speed computer terminals make Skyway Games the 21st century equivalent of a 1980s arcade. You can play solo or compete in role-playing games with friends or other patrons.
5. Music on the Hill
Windham Hill United Church of Christ, Windham Hill Road, Windham, 893-1777. Each weekend in July, enjoy various musical acts performing in the Windham Hill United Church of Christ’s annual Music on the Hill concert series. Tickets are $10 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for kids under 12. Series tickets are $35.
6. Westbrook Riverwalk
The riverwalk runs parallel to Main Street in Westbrook. The Riverwalk is a chance to take in a little of Westbrook’s history while stretching your legs. Stroll past the powerful Saccarappa Falls, historic Dana Warp Mill and through downtown to Riverbank Park where ducks are always eager for some handouts. Parking can be found at numerous public and free parking lots along Main Street.
7. Marrett House
Route 25 in downtown Standish, 642-3032. The Marrett House in Standish is run by Historic New England and typifies an 18th century-style New England farmhouse. A parlor in the home is preserved exactly as it appeared on the occasion of a family wedding in 1847. The house is open to the public on the first and third Saturday of the month June though Oct. 15.
8. Happy Wheels
331 Warren Ave. on the Portland-Westbrook line, 797-8207.
Happy Wheels is located about two miles from the Westbrook exit and is the place to go in the Portland area for roller skating. Snacks and skates are available.
9. Hacker’s Hill
Quaker Ridge Road in Casco. Soak in the 360-degree views of the White Mountains to the northwest, Maine mountains to the north and Sebago Lake to the southwest on top of Hacker’s Hill in Casco. The hill is privately owned but open to the public. There is an outdoor chapel at the top and a picnic area.
10. Windham Correctional Center Industries Store.
Mallison Falls Road in Windham, 287-2711. The Industries Store carries some furniture, such as bureaus and nightstands, garments such as nightgowns, sweatshirts, embroidered ball caps, and sometimes quilts all made by Maine State Prison inmates. Be captivated by the handiwork as you walk through the store.
