A white powder found in a vial in the parking lot of the Shaw’s Supermarket in North Windham was cocaine, according to officer Ray Williams of the Windham Police Department.
A customer found the small vial of powder, about a gram in mass, and turned it into the store on Friday, June 8 at about 9 a.m. The store called Windham dispatch and members of the police and
“From time to time, people will find a controlled substance dropped by a user,” said Williams. He tested the powder with a field test kit outside the supermarket.
Shaw’s public relations spokeswoman Judy Chong refused to comment.
