• Lakes Region Farmer’s Market runs 8 a.m. to noon until Oct. 13. Rain or shine at Manchester Elementary School on Route 302 in North Windham.
• Steep Falls Public Library: Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. A free story hour for toddlers and preschool children is held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Story hour is free and open to the public.
• Active Senior Citizens of Standish holds meetings the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 11 a.m. at the Steep Falls Fire Barn. Lunch is $3 and reservations are required before 9 a.m. the Monday prior to the meeting. To reserve a spot, call Alvida at 642-4929 or June at 727-6215.
• A Caregiver’s Support Group meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Bridgton Community Center from 1:30 to 3 p.m. This discussion group is sponsored by the Southern Maine Agency on Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association. • American Legion Standish Memorial Post 128 meets every second and fourth Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Kiwanis Beach Road Club House on Route 25 in Standish. All veterans, past and present, are welcome.
• The Windham Fire Department sponsors a child car seat inspection every third Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Windham Fire Station. FMI 892-1912.

June 9: Plant & Yard Sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 476 Sand Pond Road in Limington (4 miles from Bonny Eagle Middle School). Antiques, end tables, stereo cabinets, small appliances, 5-inch TV, housewares, candy, many 25 cent tables. June 9: Friends of Spaulding Memorial Library will be holding a Plant/Book/Bake Sale from 9-11 a.m. There will be a “used cookbook sale” as part of the sale. If you donate one cookbook you may have one free. Otherwise, each one will be $1. “A Touch of Glass” jewelry will be available at $5 per item.
June 9: Knights of Columbus Roast Pork Supper at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Hall from 5-6 p.m. $7 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under. Menu includes Pork Roast, mashed potatoes, carrots, apple sauce, rolls, homemade desserts, coffee & punch.
June 10: From Barbershop to Hip-Hop, two men’s acapella ensembles will perform at 2 p.m. at Prides Corner Church, 235 Pride Street, in Westbrook. Patrick McCarthy, a recent USM graduate and chorus teacher at Westbrook High School, conducts and sings with Audiologic, a contemporary quintet. Paul Stickney of Gorham conducts and sings with the award-winning barbershop quartet, Late Arrival. Donations at the door.

June 16: Maine Blues Festival once again roars into full throttle Saturday with more than 40 Maine Blues bands playing throughout a two-mile stretch of Naples. This festival, which premiered just last year, has quickly become one of the high points of this area’s summer activities while offering something for everyone. Advance tickets can be purchased for $10 each ($15 on festival day) and are available at Bray’s Brewpub & Eatery, the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, or purchase online at www.mainebluesfestival.com. Children under 12 are welcome and free.
June 23: Windham Summerfest takes place on the ground of the Windham High School. Rain date is June 24. Parade participants needed. Food and game booths available for organizations, churches or businesses. Special events include a parade at 9 a.m., frog jumping contest, live band concerts, bicycle rodeo, helicopter rides, games and activities all day, craft fair, softball game with Windham Police vs. Windham Fire, skate park competition, soccer tournament, and a large fireworks display at dusk. June 25: Windham Cancer Support Group meets 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Windham Public Library’s meeting room. Guest speaker is Betty McLeod of Windham.
June 30: The Hawthorne Community Association holds its annual Strawberry Festival 6-8 p.m. at the historic Nathaniel Hawthorne House at the corner of Cape and Hawthorne roads in Raymond. Fresh shortcake, hand-picked strawberries and real whipped cream to be served. Donation is $5 for adults, $3 for children 8 and under.
