The Windham Remembered photo this week was donated to Windham Historical Society in 1997 and was identified as Grammy Lord’s house, known also as the White mansion. It was built on North Gorham Road in 1798 by lumber merchant John Trickey, who was married to Mary White. Her father, Peter, had settled at White’s Bridge. For many years, members of the White and Trickey families lived there, including Ann White Lord who is the Grammy Lord mentioned on the photo’s inscription. She died in 1924. The house, still standing proudly, is one of the oldest in Windham. Photo courtesy of Windham Historical Society
