Standish Summer Programs will run from June 20 to Aug. 8. “Camp Edna” is for ages 6-9 at the Edna Libby School or “Camp Jack” for ages 10-15 at George E. Jack school. This is a chance for your children to have a summer experience to remember. The camper will be involved in variety of activities including arts and crafts, drama, physical fitness, sport skills, swimming outdoor education and games. There are a variety of enrollment options so that working and non-working parents can design a schedule that works best for them.

The Outreach Program is for parents who want to broaden their children’s experiences, and are offered at a reasonable rate to children not attending summer camp, as well as children who are enrolled in camp. Some of the outreach programs that are offered are Horsemanship Camp, Kids On-Stage Camp, Summer Competitive Swim, Major League Soccer Camps, Roller-skating at Happy Wheels in Portland and Friday Field Trips. Field Trips are trips to Range Pond, DEW Animal Kingdom, Seacoast Fun Park, Sebago Lake State Park and Funtown U.S.A. Because of the numerous programs you will have to consult the Web site at www.standish.org or call the office at 642-2875.

There is also a Junior Counselor Program. This is an opportunity for teens to do something really worthwhile with their summer. There will be three positions open to serve as junior counselors if your child is 14 before June 20. They can volunteer their service in a leadership capacity with younger campers. This application can be downloaded from the town’s Web site.
